My friend has had a large parrot for years. He would pet the parrot and play with it. Last week while playing with it in its cage, the parrot bit him, and sliced the tip of his finger. Blood was spurting everywhere. There was no warning or hints to why the parrot would feel threatened or turn on his master. My friend actually had to wear his welding gloves when he had to clean the cage the next day. Sure enough the parrot tried to bit his hand again. These were not playful nibbles, either.
