MOT NEWS- Yu Darvish, the 25-year old Japanese pitching sensation, was shot in Dallas Texas right before the Texas Rangers, who had won bidding rights for $51.7 million dollars, were going to announce his contract at a press conference. Darvish is in stable condition at Arlington Memorial Hospital.The shooter was identified as Billy Ray Ferrell, and is currently in Dallas County jail awaiting arraignment.
Billy Ray’s best friend Bubba Ray Murdoch said Darvish entered the West Texas Redeck BBQ and “all of the guys turned around – the jukebox even stopped” when they saw Darvish.
“Billy Ray- his daddy fought in The Big One [World War II]- he had no love loss for those Japs,” Murdoch said. “But not only is this guy half-Jap, but he’s half Iranian. Iran- we should have nuked them back in the 70s, and now they have a nuke.”
“Plus this guy is a- you know. What’s the politically correct term for it nowadays? Metrosexual?”
“I don’t blame what Billy Ray done did. He lost his job at the factory and every night he would come here to the bar and we would have to buy him drinks. Why [Texas Rangers owner] Nolan [Ryan] gave $100 million dollars to an immigrant is crazy to me. He could given it to Cliff Lee, even though he was kinda fruity, too.”
Alice Florence, a waitress a the West Texas Redneck BBQ, had a different take.
“I personally thought he was cute…you know for a Martian terrorist.”
Texas Governor Perry released the following statement:
This is a very unfortunate incident, as an American citizen has been arrested for shooting an illegal immigrant. This is what American society has degenerated to thanks to the Obama administration, where he won’t let states enforce existing laws already on the books.
Yu Darvish’s father, Farsad Darvishsefad, said in a telephone interview that he told his son not to sign a contract from “the Land of Bush”, and that “Governor Perry said he wanted to bomb Iran if elected president during a [GOP] debate.”
