Cliff Lee Destroys Yankees in Game 3

Cliff Lee brought Perfect Game stuff to Yankee Stadium in Game 3. Andy Pettitte brought fantastic stuff to Yankee Stadium. Petttitte, who hadn’t pitched in a while, gave up a 2-run HR to Josh Hamilton in the 1st. It was a devastating HR. But then Andy settled down and did his traditional clutch 2-runs in 7 innings, that I actually jokingly predicted. It’s rare that Andy brings no-hit stuff to the mound, and that’s what he needed. Cliff Lee finished the most boring 8 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk, and 13 strikeouts you can imagine.

Some angry Yankees fans- who saw Cliff Lee throw green  balls of Kryptonite- are blaming Cliff Lee’s cap and the fact that Joe Girardi did not bring in Mariano Rivera in the 9th to preserve the 2-0 lead. That’s a stretch. Boone Logan and Dave Robertson didn’t get the job done, and the game got out of hand. The cap scandal is a distraction created by Michael Kay.

I guess it would have been a morale “victory” to lose 2-0, so Andy’s fans could save face, but the official score was 7-0.

Quite embarrassing.

Oh, and John Sterling- would you please stop saying Cliff Lee isn’t Sandy Koufax and he’s just human? Until the Yankees beat him in the post-season…he is invincible until proven otherwise.

There is still some debate about how many "fathers" Spider-Man actually had (it may be as many as six), but Spider-Man is hardly Lee's only claim to fame. So IF the signature is genuine, it would greatly enhance the value of the book (and no title or year or issue number has been mentioned, so there is no way to come up with a ballpark figure for an unautograhed copy, and the series, date, issue number, condition, and etc. will effect the value of the book).

Proving that the signature is, indeed, Stan Lee's might be difficult, because anyone could have signed whatever book might be in question. Two things would help convince that the signature is genuine: a letter of provenance or a reputable dealer's appraisal, either (or even better both) of which attest that the signature is genuine.

Good luck if you have such an item, and if you do I hope you can find someone you trust who knows much more about the subject than you.

I think you too answered your own question.

“Interesting” factoid. Misty May the big-time US beach volleyball player is married to Matt Traynor (thus her Misty May Traynor name now), and he plays for the Texas Rangers baseball team. Meaning that on the local broadcasts of their games last season there were numerous shots of her (sans bikini of course) at the ball games.

What an amazing series. At least one of the divisional matchups went 5 games right? Cliff Lee is just unbelievable out there. Big time players come up big in big games, and Cliff Lee is sure showing his value and what the Rangers hoped they would get when the traded for him earlier in the the season. Where would they be without him? It's been so fun to watch him pitch, and hopefully they can stomp on the Yankees in the ALCS.

Putting elaborate patches on the uniform, whether for memorials or celebrations, gives fans reason to buy a new jersey every year. It’s not a 2010 Yankees jersey if it doesn’t have the Steinbrenner patch. It’s not a 2009 Yankees jersey if it doesn’t have the inaugural season patch. It’s not a 2008 Yankees jersey if it doesn’t have All-Star Game and final season patches.

The Giants have been the hottest team in the play offs and that is saying something when you beat Cliff Lee in Game 1. I don't think a lot of people gave the Giants a shot in Game 1 considering how good Lee has been but when are we going to realize the Giants are for real? They controlled the Phillies in the
NLCS and they were a better team than the 2010 Yankees. The Giants showed they can have been swinging the bats well and did what they needed to do on their home field. The Rangers now need to bounce back tonight to avoid going back home 0-2.
