CC Sabathia (20-6, 3.05) won 20 games for the first time in his career. Where would the Yankees be without this ace for the last two years? But CC Sabathia is not just a pitcher, he is a great humanitarian: he has all of the traits that make a person great:
He is humble, generous, understated, friendly, kind, funny, yet a fierce competitor that gets angry on the mound when provoked by the corrupt umpires. He is his own worst critic. He is a workhorse and never complains. He wants to finish games.
The last two years he changed his style, and perfected the change-up. This lowered his strike-out rate, but he still gets his outs. He is constantly working on ways to improve and get hitters out.
Ode to CC
CC Sabathia is the sun, the moon, and the sky.
CC Sabathia is the stars above.
CC Sabathia is the rain that washes our souls.
CC Sabathia is the flames from mountain peaks that burn our enemies.
CC doesn’t care about 20 wins or Cy Young Awards;
He just cares about giving the Yankees a chance to win each time out.
The infidels claim Felix Hernandez is the best pitcher in the American League;
The Stat Heads want King Felix (12-11) to win the 2010 Cy Young Award.
CC’s justice will prevail!
