And in the end, the New York Mets were more lucky than the New York Yankees at Citi Field. In front of a worldwide ESPN 8:00PM Sunday night audience, Johan Santana was dominate, and CC Sabathia was horrible. Most fans think the game was over when the score was 6-0 or 6-1, but for anyone who stayed up late, the Yankees tried to mount a comeback in the 9th. K-Rod struck out A-Rod with runners on base: final score Mets 6, Yanks 4.

CC Sabathia has not looked comfortable on the mound lately- I don’t know if he’s frustrated about umpires or- since he’s a lefty- there’s some emotional problem that is adversely affecting his focus, pitch selection, or control. But that’s not the CC I know…maybe Cleveland Indians fans can shed some light on CC’s ruts.

Anyway, Jason Bay hit 2HR’s.

Yankees slumps:

Brett Gardner, Mark Teixeira- even with 2 hits, A-Rod’s power, starting pitching has been regressing to mean, bullpen still has issues

IIRC, correctly, Cecil threw a changeup last year, and of course, the 2010 Yankees couldn’t hit a changeup with a paddle.
