CC Sabathia Flirts with No-Hitter, Yanks Kills Rays 10-0

CC Sabathia Yankees

CC Sabathia is the Man

CC Sabathia threw a no-hitter into the 8th inning, as the New York Yankees bounced back to crush the Tampa Bay Rays 10-0, on a game you probably saw since it was televised nationally on FOX. CC Sabathia showed why he is the Yankees ace and one of the best pitchers of the 21st century by dominating one of the best lineups in baseball.

Of course, based on manager Joe Girardi’s controversial comments after the game, it appears that CC’s no hitter would not have been allowed to continue. Girardi echoed what FOX announcer Tim McCarver said: that Sabathia was limited to 110-115 pitches, and that would have been CC’s last at bat anyway. Statements like that make fans angry and upset, and with good reason. But let’s not allow this stupidity to get in the way of a great Yankees win. Joe Torre had pulled David Cone and Phil Hughes from completing their no-hit bids, so their is a Yankees precedence for this.

Mark Teixeira finally did well this week, and Robinson Cano is staying hot. Brett Gardner deserves to start every day, and Curtis Granderson showed he can hit lefties. Derek Jeter is getting his hits in, and the Yankees lineup looks great.

Anyway, Francisco Cervelli was awesome in every way, from his call calling, to his chemistry with CC, to his bat, and to him expressions- what a great backup catcher.

I don't like the Yankees at all, but the easy answer to this question is CC Sabathia. The guy has been unstoppable and he's just a work horse!

This is coming from a Sox fan too! But I can appreciate talent in baseball regardless of what uniform they are wearing, and CC is just a complete beast and the best pitcher in Baseball!

Its not like the rays get fans to their stadium anyway. Why even bother making a new stadium? Try moving to another city where fans will actually show up. Rays “fans” are a joke. I mean, the rays get to the WS, and the year after the trop is still a ghost town, even when the rays were in a playoff race.

Cubs play in a big market so they have a lot of money to offer FAs. They also have a new owner. Only then if Girardi thinks he can win with Chicago will he go there. Cubs right now are rebuilding. You don't trade championships for rebuilding.
