Internet Freedom of Speech

Ya gotta have all of these stickers to be accepted into the club.

Blog comments and message board forums have become the graffiti in the bathroom stalls of the modern era. Many posters hide behind the mask of anonymity to post venom and make personal attacks. Recently a couple of the DailySkew sites got hit with some poison, and both posters pretended to be patroits and to value freedom of speech, yet tried to shout me down. Therefore in the interest of freedom of speech, here are their e-mail addresses and IP addresses.

poorboy@yahoo.com from good old Miami Florida IP address 65.199.231.99 tried to post as “Ned Rules” on my Bubba the Love Sponge Haiti post.  He said:

You [CENSORED] need to grow up and grow a pair. [CENSORED] Haiti we have plenty of needy people in this country. If you don’t like freedom of speech then why not move to Iraq or maybe china and become the sheep you reaqlly are

I did a quick search on poorboy@yahoo.com, seems like he likes to collect negative articles about President Obama and his tagline is ““MY WE NEED NEW LEADER SHIP PERIOD””.

I read some other comments he made elsewhere, and he seems like a paranoid right wing mutant that seem to be populating talk radio and every single news article linked by Yahoo. For someone who hates immigrants, I wish he could write English; here’s what he wrote: “I’m hoping that they went by the Continuation and not ban our rights to bear arm, but most likely will take our rights away from us.”

He left over 3,000 comments like this.

Next, we have someone posting as “WWIIBuff” on one of my other sites. He believes that Japanese are evil and deserved to have atomic bombs dropped on them. He said he’d shoot me if I went on his property. Tony Vahl covered a full analysis on his DailySkew podcast. “WWII Buff”‘s e-mail is 3dachsies@iunsightbb.com and his computer IP address is 74.132.26.19. He is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

What does these two men have in common? Well, they both are full of fear and hate and have misconceptions about labels such as liberalism, conservatism, and how this country was founded. They equate freedom of speech to being 100% unrestricted, i.e. uncivil, rude, and disruptive. (The irony is that my left wing friend named R.A.W. believes the same thing.) They have a skewed view about American history and our Founding Fathers, who would not tolerate uncivil discourse. In fact, the backbone of our political and legal system is all about people speaking civilly and not being shouted down and attacked in public while speaking.

A recent study showed that college students are prone to cheating if the lights are dimmed. Time to grow up, people.
