Yankees clinch post-season with win over Angels
The Yankees may have squandered the lead last night, but Brett Gardner stole the game in the 9th enabling the Yankees to clinch a post-season spot (via Wild Card or East). Gardner singled in the 9th, stole 2nd on a pinch-out, moved over with a sac bunt, and came home on an A-Rod sac fly.
Dan Gaudin did OKAY (for him)- 4.2 innings/2 runs. Aceves and Hughes didn’t do well, but thankfully Mariano Rivera got the 6-5 save.
A-Rod, Matsui, and Posada hit HRs.
