Yankees B-Team beats Royals

The Yankees B-Team took care of business last night after a 2-hour rain delay. Lead by a great 6.2 innings pitching performance by Chad Gaudin, the Yanks beat the KC Royals 8-2. Ramiro Pena hit his first career HR, and Eric Hinkse and Shelley Duncan had RBI. Robinson Cano, one of the few regulars in the lineup, was batting 3rd and hit a grand slam. Cervelli and Gardner got on base, and the only one who didn’t was 1B Juan Miranda.

After Pena hit the HR, A-Rod got all the guys to play a joke on the rookie by pretending to not care and just sit there when Ramiro came back to the dugout for congratulations. Pena looked so disappointed that the veterans were just sitting there, but after a few seconds, the guys jumped all over the kid and he was happy.
