CC Sabathia outduels Dice-K, Yankees Magic Number is 1

Many people use different words to describe CC Sabathia (19-7, 3.21) – workhorse, stud, ace, bulldog- but the bottom line is that what CC has done for the Yankees since August is beyond phenomenal. CC brought his A-game to Yankee Stadium to beat the Red Sox and Dice-K in the last Boston-NY series of the 2009 regular series, and he did it in pure ace fashion- 1 hit in 7 innings. This was done on FOX with Tim McCarver announcing.
Robinson Cano’s solo HR broke the 0-0 tie in the 6th, and Johnny Damon’s bloop single with the bases loaded (after Brett Gardner had some great baserunning) in the 8th gave the Yanks a 3-0 victory. Phil Hughes shutdown the Sox in the 8th, and Mariano Rivera got Save #43. Jose Molina did a great job letting CC and Hughes do their own thing.
Most of the Sox players spent their second straight game complaining after they struck out.
