Pettite beats Halladay

The Yankees beat the best pitcher in the American League, as Andy Pettitte defeated Roy Halladay in Toronto. Andy really showed poise and confidence tonight to pick up his 9th victory by going 6.2 innings. Halladay was great for most of his complete game, but was prone to the homerun ball- Johnny Damon and Mark Teixeira went back-to-back.

Phil Hughes struggled and Mariano Rivera had to come into the 8th again. Mo didn’t have his usual command, but got his 31st save (his ERA is under 2.00). Hideki Matsui added a nice insurance HR in the top of the 9th. Final score Yankees 5 Blue Jays 3. Very fast paced and fun game to watch.
