YES Network broadcaster David Cone said that went to wrestling matches in Missouri when he was a kid, and got his first wrestler autograph in the form of Handsome Harley Race! That was so ironic for me to hear- almost like a dream state- because Cone was one of my favorite baseball players and Harley Race one of my favorite wrestlers.
Cone also mentioned Rufus R. Jones in a fond light, and Cone always makes a comment about WWE Smackdown when the commercial comes on while he’s working for WWOR.
I think it’s pretty cool that Coney is down to earth like that. Most people look down upon pro wrestling, and would not admit that they were fans on TV like that.
