The Yanks couldn’t solve JOHN LANNAN, as the Washington Nationals embarrassed the Yankees with a 3-2 victory.
Wang lasted 5 innings on 91 pitches, and pitched fine in the first 4 innings. He is now 0-5. Michael Kay rated his performance a “C” because he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings against the “worst team in baseball”. John Flaherty gave Wang a C+ because he had good command in only his 3rd start since coming off the DL.
In other words, Wang will have another chance.
Phil Hughes, Phil Coke, and Alfredo Aceves shut out the Nats the rest of the way.
The Yanks made things interesting in the 9th with a Jonny Damon HR and two Brett Gardner steals. Unfortunately, Cano grounded into a double play (he had hit a HR previously).
I really see an improvement in Gardner’s base running skills. I wish the kid had more playing time- I think he’s better than a 9th inning pinch runner.

You can't beat Zombies.
I think it's common of younger parents. I also think it's very damaging!!!! The child affected by this won't grow up with good feelings about themselves. It's very confusing to children. They won't grow up with good attachments to the people they are supposed to be able to trust.
Let me just state though that people don't always follow through and life is full of disappointments but as a person who is fairly trusting you learn to get over it and know that people are human and everyone makes mistakes.
Beyond that, I think parents feel jealous because they didn't get a lot of love growing up. They don't know how to handle life's ups and downs and they take it out on their kids.
If you are being beaten, you need to seek help right away! Go to a teacher, police, even a neighbor. I know it would be difficult but you need to protect yourself. Typically the state will get involved but they try to keep you in your home, or place you with relatives who can take care of you. There are also some really good foster homes out there. I know this because my mom worked for child protective services for 20 years.
If you happen to be the parent… you need to do some serious growing up TODAY! There is no reason in this world that a child deserves to be beaten. You need to get help. Call someone TODAY!!! You can learn to be a better parent. The first thing you need to stop doing is harming your child. I can hear you saying but I don't know how. You just stop! You walk away, you go beat on your bed, you go for a run, you do something different. You don't hit your child!
Please get professional help right away either way… if you're the kid you don't deserve this and if your the parent you need to stop this.
Brett was great! He stoled two bases in one inning! He should
have more playing time. We have
alot of guys in the outfield already. Damon, Swish, Melky but
they deserve a day off, so Brett
steps up and fields and plays!
Was there ever a woman manager?
