Rays beat Mariano Rivera, SWEEP Yanks

Tampa Bay Rays 8 @ New York Yankees 6

Yankees Report Card

Guys who did their jobs:

  • Johnny Damon, the hottest Yankees player, with a game-tying HR
  • Hideki Matsui- he looks like he will commit harikari when he gets an out. Thankfully he had a HR today.
  • Melky Cabrera- he walks now, making him a dangerous threat
  • Derek Jeter rebounded from the last game with 2 hits and walk
  • Ramiro Pena. With A-Rod returning today, the kid had a single, walk, and run scored

Guys who didn’t do their jobs:

  • Mark Teixeira- the only Yankees player who is booed when he makes an out
  • Nick Swisher doesn’t look comfortable at home. His home/road numbers are skewed
  • Robinson Cano, in admist of his first slump of the season
  • Andy Pettitte- thanks, Andy.
  • Jose Veras- boy is he in every game, or what?
  • Mariano Rivera’s velocity wasn’t there; his arm felt weak. He gave up back-to-back HRs in the 9th after Damon tied it up. There was mostly silence at the Stadium, with scattered boos among polite claps.

How the Yankees lost: Choke hitting, bad starting pitching, bad bullpen. Who says the Yanks can’t run on all cylinders?

Alex Rodriguez….SAVE US.

How do you make somebody hit a baseball? How do you make someone
    strike out a batter?
Do you really think the player standing there says “i am going to
strike out now” and not get the player to go to second base?
Do you think a pitcher wants to walk batters because he has already
given up one home run that game?
These players are only human, yet
on the other hand they DO get ALOT
of money so we expect them to get
homers for us and strikeout all the time..It’s called being a fan..

yap, too bad George isn’t 10 years younger, I’d rather see him ranting and firing people so at least the fans will know that SOMEONE gives a shit

How come I have not heard anything from the little twerp Brian ASSman lately? Is he hiding? He built the TITANIC, so I would like to hear what he plans.

Poor Girardi has to sit there and answer all the questions while Brian ASSman is nowhere to be found.

He had surgery, Mike. He’s getting his arm strength back to where it was, so his velocity is down.

girardi should be fired. firing girardi will also let the team know that peoples jobs arent safe and secure and that mediocrity is not acceptable.

Nobody wants to write any comments because there is not anything to say…What could we possibly say?
I am very depressed, is that okay?
