Pettitte beats Cliff Lee

Andy Pettitte didn’t have his best stuff, but somehow used his veteran guile to limit the offensive powerhouse Cleveland Indians to 1 run in 5 innings, while Alfredo Aceves pitched 3 shutout innings, and Mariano Rivera got the save. Mariano and Andy have teamed up for more saves than any other starter/closer combo in history.

Derek Jeter continued his hot hitting, and the Yanks made the 2008 Cy Young Award Winner work too hard early on. This game also marked the return of Jorge Posada, who did great. (4th string catcher Kevin Cash was sent down- who cares?) Rain delay aside (it probably got to Andy), this was a great game, one that the Yanks would have lost last year big time.

Oh, great scene on the mound where the Yanks tried to force Andy to come out of the game due to injury- he had refused and the guys pretty much had to pry him into the dugout.

This should be the Mexican flag instead, a Golden Eagle throwing a goat off a cliff would be the most badass flag in the world, which would be a title Mexico would retain since an Eagle eating a snake on a cactus is already the most badass flag int he world lol
