Anaheim Angels 4 @ New York Yankees 7

Yankees Report Card

Guys who did their jobs:

  • Melky Cabrera got the go ahead bases loaded single after the Angels intentionally walked Nick Swisher to get to him. The Melk Man had 2 hits.
  • Ramiro Pena- the Mexican kid that we have no expectations for delivered big, with 2 RBI and 2 hits, not to mention a nice glove at 3rd.
  • Nick Swisher, St. Nick = 2 HR. Plus great fielding.
  • Phil Coke, scoreless inning in a tied game
  • Mariano Rivera, 5/6 save
  • Derek Jeter, great at the top of the lineup

Guys who didn’t do their jobs:

  • Mark Teixeira is now hearing the Bronx cheer, as he left 5 men on base.

How the Yankees won: The Yankees gutted out a clutch victory. A.J. Burnett didn’t have his stuff, but neither did the Angels.
