Captain Clutch Jeter and Little Cody beat Rays

The New York Yankees 4 @ Tampa Bay Rays 3

Yankees Report Card

Guys who did their jobs:

  • Derek Jeter, whose 9th inning double brought home Cody Ransom to break the 3-3 tie.
  • Andy Pettitte, with a solid 7.1 innings. Andy looked like a hard luck loser, but the Yanks tied it up and got him off the hook.
  • Cody Ransom, who came in as a pinch runner for Godzilla, finally delivered in the clutch with a double in the 9th inning off of Troy Percival
  • Johnny Damon, who tied the game with a double in the 8th
  • Robinson Cano hit a 2-run HR in the 4th
  • Brian Bruney’s 2K’s to finish the 8th were awesome. I’m tired of the MEDIA and so-called Yankees fans complaining that Joba Chamberlain doesn’t setup when we have Brian Bruney.
  • Mariano Rivera got Save #2 in a 1-2-3 9th inning. Folks, if your MLB.TV freezes up for a minute, you will miss him.

Guys who didn’t do their jobs:

  • No need to nitpick after taking 2/3 from the American League Champions.

How the Yankees won: Excellent starting pitching by Andy Pettitte, a never-give-up attitude from the offense, and a perfect bullpen performance by Bruney and Mo.

Joba is a starter not a set up man!
You are right and what ever media or so called fans say, that’s final! Bruney is foing so well so far. How about the media writing about that? and the so called fans
believing our luck with Bruney! He
lost weight and is doing well. When
Joba finally gets to pitch all of his starts, the media will have a light go off on top of their heads and count: Joba-Bruney-Mo…..
