Joe Torre’s Dodgers SWEEP Lou Pinella’s Cubs
The underdog Los Angeles Dodgers SWEPT the heavily favored Chicago Cubs last night.
As I previously reported, the Cubs were a run-scoring machine all year, and had the best NL starting pitcher’s ERA. But nothing went right for Lou Pinella’s Cubs team, as Alfonso Soriano and other hitters CHOKED.
Meanwhile, Joe Torre’s team was dominate over these three games. For once, in 2008, the Good Guys won.
On the heels of Hank Steinbrenner saying that it wasn’t fair for Joe Torre’s team to be in the playoffs, Mr. Torre’s sweep over the Cubs (many people this year believed this team was going to break their Curse) just adds to the Steinbrenner clam, Brian Cashman, and Randy Levines HUMILIATION.
Those of you who read my Dodgers in-season report, should not be surprised that Broxton, Manny Ramirez, Huroki Kuroda and James Toney did well in the NLDS.
