Game 84: Texas Rangers win Yankees series

The offenseive struggkes for the Yankees continued last night as the” great” Texas Rangers pitching staff beat the Yankees 3-2 in the Bronx.
Joba Chamberlain labored through 4 innings against Texas’ tough lineup. Dan Giese pitched a scoreless 5th. David Robertson pitched 2 excellent innings. Jose Veras pitched a scoreless 8th, but Mariano Rivera (2-3, 0.96) gave up 3 hits and 1 run in a tied game to get the loss. All of Rivera’s losses and runs have come in tied game this year.
Johnny Damon, Robby Cano, and Jorge Posada picked up 2 hits each, but the Yanks as a team spent the night choking.
The Rangers ran all over Jorge’s arm last night.
Melky did the “wrestling job” by grounding into a double play in the 9th off of C.J. Wilson. The question on everyone’s mind was: why didn’t Joe Girardi have Melky bunt to move the runner over in a 3-2 game?
The pitching was fine for me, but the hitting was once again inconsistent.

mo is not a god but a human being who should be allowed an error every year! Joba (who i love to watch pitch) did not do as well as
expected last night. Oh, he is not a
god either! but he soon will be joining those who will someday be
the backbone of the yankees!
