Game 104: Red Sox, Lester blast Yankees, Ponson

The Boston Red Sox salvaged the final game of the 3-game series by blasting the Yankees 9-2. Jon Lester (9-3, 3.07) was once again excellent, and Big Papi and Manny Ramirez both woke up and were devastating.

Sidney Ponson (6-2, 4.59), who had been very luck in his previous starts, gave up 7 runs on 10 hits in 4 innings. Dan Giese, whose job is to replace a starter who failed, finished the game (4 innings, 2 runs).

Pretty bad ESPN game, with an hour delay due to rain.

The Yankees do win this series, though. They remain 3 back from the Tampa Bay Rays, and 2 back from Boston. In the Wild Card race, they are in 2nd place, 2 out from Boston.

The game being ripped means that all of the content had been copied off of the CD on to a computer. Someone put that data on the internet to be downloaded.
It's illegal to post and download ripped games, so I suggest you get rid of it although the fact that it's ripped would not affect the quality of the game.

Actually, I’d rather make myself a member of the Boston Red Sox. Right, I can just join by acting like one and saying that I am?

Pena is more than deserving, but he will most likely get lost in the numbers. generally there are 14-15 reserves named to the team. and the manager needs to obviously consider positions and teams when filling out. most likely there are 2 reserve first basemen.Big Papi is going to be the starter. and they will need spots for Youkilis (.330 BA) and Mourneau (20HR)making it worse is that the game is in SF..so no DH. which means any DHs will probably go on roster as first basemen (ie. Big Papi). Pena has a shot bc 1B is not as deep as other years, but it will still be tough.
