The RETURN of CITO GASTON, BLUE JAYS MANAGER

Cito Gaston, two-time WORLD CHAMPION (1992 and 1993) of the Toronto Blue Jays has made his triumphant return in 2008.

Cito, who had been blacklisted from managing, takes over for John Gibbons, who was put out to pasture today.

That makes three managers fired in the last few days: the Mets Willie Randolph, the Mariners John McLaren, and Toronto’s Jay Gibbons. The Mariners also fired their General Manager.

I’m happy to see John Gibbons go; he was a Yankees hater. To John Gibbons: “Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey heyyyy, GOOD-BYE!”

I’m happy to see Cito Gaston back at the helm. He managed some great Blue Jays teams from 1989-1997, and didn’t deserve to be excommunicated from managing.

Now, let’s hope DAVEY JOHNSON comes back to manage the 2009 New York Mets. Their current “interim manager” Jerry Manuel has a new WWE gimmick: an old gansta. This is what Manuel said about Jose Reyes, who had a temper tantrum on the field:

“Next time he does that I’m going to get my blade out and cut him. I’m a gangster. You go gangster on me, I’m going to have to get you. You do that again, I’m going to cut you right on the field.”

Yeah, he was half-JOKING, and he smiled when he said it, but it’s only a matter of time before the white-bread NY MEDIA turns on him. I bet Manuel thinks the Mets are going to keep him around next year if the team turns things around.
