Game 22: Mussina beats White Sox

The big news out of New York was that Mike Mussina proved Hank Steinbrenner wrong. Little Boss has previously said that Moose should pitch more like Jamie Moyer (low speeds, not trying to challenge anyone, I guess). The irony is that this comment did not get the publicity like Hanks’ opinion of Joba Chamberlain did.

Moose pitched 7 strong innings, allowing only only 4 hits and 2 runs. LaTroy Hawkins gave up 2 runs in 1/3 of an inning against the Chicago White Sox, while Billy Traber have up a hit in 0 innings. Mariano Rivera was forced to get a 5-out save at U.S. Cellular Field. He didn’t give up a hit or walk for his 6 save. His ERA is still 0.00.

Jorge Posada got 3 doubles to raise his average to over .300. Final score 6-4.
