Jorge Posada sticks by Roger Clemens

Jorge is in Rocket’s Corner on HGH

Jorge Posada has never been one to hide his feelings or opinions about things. So it was refreshing that he had no qualms about defending Roger Clemens to the MEDIA yesterday:

“I support him; he said he never took it and I’m behind him 100%. He’s one of my favorite teammates ever. It doesn’t really take anything away from what he did. He’s always been, for me, the best pitcher I’ve ever caught. It doesn’t change that.”

“He keeps going forward with it and it’s probably going to go to trial now. He sounded real truthful the other day and that’s all I wanted to hear. I believe Roger. That’s the guy I believe.”

“It’s been so long ago that [he and Andy] talked about it [HGH], so I don’t know [about Andy misremembering]. Andy said that they talked about it, and right now, I don’t know much about it. It’s going to keep going on. Rocket said it was a miscommunication or whatever, and I believe Rocket.”

DAILYSKEW SAYS: Although I personally don’t believe Roger, I do respect Jorge’s view because this shows he supports his former teammate and gives a friend the benefit of the doubt. I like the loyalty of Jorge Posada. He is someone that will fight for you and stick by you- not feed you to the MEDIA hounds.

This also shows how I’d rather have Jorge testifiying on my behalf than Andy Pettitte.
