Brian Schneider – Mets new catcher
Are the Mets kidding me with this picture of new catcher Brian Schneider? This is a typical lame attempt by the New York Mets to create an image that:
1) They welcome all players into their “family”; and
2) Brian Schneider is somebody.
Yeah, I know, the Mets are competing the YES Network with their own cable network, so they will focus on “stories” such as this.
But the man is a career .252 hitter, with an on base percentage of .323, with a career average of 10 homeruns a year. Yes, folks, he’s Toby Hall…at Shea.
Do you think the Shea Stadium faithful will take to him over their former magnet for attention Paul Lo Duca? Do you think he will have a career year at Shea, and hit .276/.333?
