Bret Saberhagen wins award

Congratulations to former 2-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen, who was co-winner of the Tommy Lasorda Baseball Achievement Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding high school baseball coach in Southern California.

He helped rebuild the Calabasas program until his resignation last year after two years as coach.

Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the ceremony, where Dodger Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda presented the award.

Saberhagen was one of the most dominant pitcher with the Royals in the 1980′s. Then he came to the Mets. Wonder if the same will happen to Johan Santana.

Where were you Brig during my high school career? You should have made a site for my accomplishments. maybe i'll make one. It will have a picture of me and my MVP award on the front. That's right. I am the mvp of the 1999 Pinewood high School baseball team. I should have played basketball though. I see that daniel gets all the props because he is a basketball player. Baseball players need love too.

google ‘tommy lasorda phanatic’. he has a blog entry from 2005 about it where you can see that he clearly thinks the phanatic is a real person and talks about trying to reason with the phanatic. no sense of humor on that dude.

i am very happy for Bret! i was a met fan in the 1980′s. i hope that santana does not fall into the same thing Bret did. although it does not really matter because how ever well santana pitches this year it will not mean a thing because right across town will be the new york yankees and they will be celebrating baby!!!!!
