Did you like the WPIX Yankees theme music in video #4?

Brings back memories to my childhood. As a kid, I thought the Yanks were the professional hitting monster team, and the Mets were the
more exciting upstarts- thanks to the pitching.

I know the Yanks were in a championship drought in the mid-late 1980′s but they still had the best record for that decade. Some great players back then.

The fact that Boss used his horrible relationships as a marketing tool is very amusing and ironic to me as well. He did it with Derek on the Visa card commercial this millennium, too. It, by no means, excuses him for acting like the buffoon his is, though.

The crazy part about this timeline is that if Billy Martin did not die, the Joe Torre dynasty would never have existed. Martin was going to manage the team before he died, and I don’t see him leaving the reigns for Buck Showalter to take the team over.

If Billy was alive, he’d have briefly replaced whatever managers came after him.

Billy’s a funny guy. That head movement really reminds me of that former Tashman co-worker.

Johnny Drama must be his illegitimate son.

Third video — The Marketeers sure loved using Billy Martin in their ads. Most marketable manager ever?

Second video — I love the Yankees player wearing #77 … I wonder who posed for that shot?

Nothing like the Boss enveloping you in his arm and staring intently in your eye, ordering you to take the team to the postseason. I love how Billy just brushed that aside and read his cue cards.

The Boss clearly used his tumultuous relationship with Billy to market the team.

The portrayals in The Bronx is Burning appear to be dead-on, based on what I’ve seen here so far.

First video — Billy definitely reminds me of a former Tashman co-worker who we played softball with once.

His build and mannerisms also reminds me of a certain mutual friend who is a type-7.

George — his haircut and blue blazer were there for all the world to see.
