To Mike Lupica and the MEDIA: HA!
Told Ya So
Two outs…Zero balls, two strikes, 9th inning, Papelbon on the mound, BOSTON, must-win-game, fans vocal, and A-Rod did it.
For the last 3 years, the MEDIA has been saying how A-Rod is a CHOKE player, and they listed all the other batters they would rather see in such a situation. Well, A-Rod proved them all wrong last night, by doing what the MEDIA said he couldn’t do.
Oh, and Mariano Rivera…you know the guy who the MEDIA said has lost “it”? He Mo’d down Big Papi, Manny Ramirez, and Mike Lowell…Bottom of the 9th…6-5…BOSTON…

It was a great day to be a Yankees fan. I held my fist in the air from the A-Rod home run to the Rivera strikeouts watching the ESPN highlights in the morning. Good to have some justice.
By the way, nice throw and relay by Matsui and Jeter … and great job of blocking the plate by Posada. That’s how you play defense!
A-Rod in the 9th inning this year:
7-15, 4 HR, 11 RBI
Other notes from the game:
1) Francona and the players stole signs from Andy in the 5th.
2) After Andy came out, the Boston fans taunted LOUDLY, “Where is RO-GERRR? Where is RO-GERRR?”
3)Cano’s triple was clutch.
4) As you said, Jorge’s play was unbelievable. Jon Miller just passed over it, though.
5) Josh Beckett was nervous when he left with the lead 5-4, as the other Hideki pitched. Josh punched his fist in the air when Hideki II got out of the jam. Later on, Josh looked downcast, because he got the no-decision.
6)Luis Vizciano means it’s time to go to sleep because he sucks to badly right now. Bruney needs to be the 1st reliver in from now on- his numbers continue to be amazing.
7) Speaking of which, you think the “invincible” tag team of Hideki II and Pable-bomb will even be remembered in two years? “Who was that Japanese guy who set up Jonathan? Oh, yeah…whatever happened to him?”
8)Kevin Youklis swung at Mo’s pitch, and didn’t move out of the way, but was still awarded 1st base, even though Doug M. was hit on the leg two weeks ago, and the ump had called it a “ball” because he didn’t dodge it! I loved how Youklis charged Scott Proctor Friday night, but didn’t even try his immature crap with Mo.
