Move over, Derek Jeter

Jose Reyes is now New York’s finest shortstop

Sure, Derek Jeter’s got the rings, the pinstripes, the endorsements and the famous romances, but Reyes is quickly endearing himself to New Yorkers by playing every bit as hard as his Bronx counterpart and just as competently. In fact, many believe that Reyes is the best player currently occupying the shortstop position in New York.

Let’s check back here in a few years…and hold Mr. Christian Red accountable for such blasphemy.

    I disagree. I’m an out of shape guy myself (5’8 and 185, around 20 pounds overweight) and most of my friends are female. I don’t find my Jagermeister-and-BBQ-inspired stomach fascinating, and I’m pretty sure they don’t either, so I’m under no false illusions. These girls will go for the college baseball player body type over the bodybuilder body type nearly every time. The picture of ideal is not Jose Canseco or Brock Lesnar, it’s more like Derek Jeter or The Rock.. fit, not bulging.

    2. my chemical romance has matured and still have that rock feel to it. the song cancer has shown the breaking point. the song helena on three cheers for sweet revenge was one of the only decent songs on the album so i say that the black parade is the best so far.

    Well if you mean best all time player (giggle). If you mean best current player i'd say it depends on what happens this year in the playoffs. I think if LeBron wins the Championship this year it's clearly LeBron. Because without him his team would be nowhere. But no Kobe is way down the list when it comes to best all time nba players if you ask me. Even among acitive NBA players Duncan & Shaq were much better in their prime & have had better careers than Kobe.

    Reyes is going to have a GREAT induction ceremony into the Mets hall of fame someday. I can’t wait until they retire his number in 5 to 10 years (after the tragic leg injuries or whatever else cuts his career short). That’s going to be an emotional day at the new stadium, full of what ifs and what might have been.
